SOLAR BATTERIES

The use that solar batteries experience require them to be slowly charged but be capable of supplying large amounts of power for longer periods. Many people substitute standard car batteries, but are disappointed when they fail in a very short time.

If you want your appliances to work, run your refrigerator, stay cool and your water to flow, then you need the reliability of good quality deep cycle solar batteries.

The most popular choices of deep cycle batteries include AGM, GEL and lead acid types.  Of these the AGM and GEL batteries are maintenance free where as the lead acid batteries require regular maintenance.

RITAR batteries are well known for their stable and reliable performance. They are easy to maintain; thus permitting a safe and proper operation of the equipment that the battery powers. The battery can withstand overcharge, over discharge, vibration and shock. It is also capable of extended storage.

The unique construction and sealing technique guarantees that no electrolyte leakage can occur from the terminals or case of any battery. This feature insures safe and efficient operation of the batteries in any position. The batteries are classified as - Non-Spillable - and will meet all requirements of the International Air Transport Association.

During the expected float service life of RITAR batteries, there is no need to check the specific gravity of the electrolyte, or add water. In fact, there is no provision for these maintenance functions.

The batteries are equipped with a safe low pressure venting system, which operates from 1 psi to 6 psi. The venting system is designed to release excess gas in the event that the gas pressure rises to a level above the normal rate. Afterwards, the venting system automatically re-seals itself when the gas pressure level returns its normal rate. This feature prevents excessive build up of gas in the batteries. This low pressure venting system, coupled with the extraordinarily high recombination efficiency, make RITAR batteries the safest sealed lead-acid batteries available.

The heavy-duty lead calcium-alloy grids in RITAR batteries provide an extra margin of performance and service life in both float and cyclic applications, even in conditions of deep discharge.   Because of the use of Lead Calcium grids alloy, RITAR VRLA batteries can be stored for long periods of time without recharge.

The newer type of sealed non-spillable maintenance free valve regulated battery uses `Absorbed Glass Mats`, or AGM separators between the plates. This is a very fine fiber Boron_Silicate glass mat. These type of batteries have all the advantages of gelled, but can take much more abuse. These are also called `starved electrolyte`. Just like the Gel batteries, the AGM Battery will not leak acid if broken.

RITAR GEL Batteries
RITAR deep cycle batteries for solar power applications, electric vehicles and communications.The GEL battery design is typically a modification of the standard lead acid automotive or marine battery.  A gelling agent is added to the electrolyte to reduce movement inside the battery case.  Many gel batteries also use one way valves in place of open vents, this helps the normal internal gasses to recombine back into water in the battery, reducing gassing. 'Gel Cell` batteries are non-spillable even if they are broken.  Gel cells must be charged at a lower voltage (C/20) than flooded or AGM to prevent excess gas from damaging the cells. Fast charging them on a conventional automotive charger maybe permanently damage a Gel Battery.

RITAR EV Batteries
EV (Electric vehicle) batteries are recommended to be used for light electric vehicles, battery driven golf caddies and wheelchairs etc.. Lifespan of these batteries are expressed in cycles and deep cycle series type, besides AGM type, GEL type above 24AH is also available with much better cyclic performance.

RITAR Communication FT (Front terminal)
These front terminal series batteries are mainly recommended for telecommunication equipment. For this series, both AGM and Gel type are available, and advanced gelled electrolyte gas recombination technology ensures reliable performance, safety, outstanding battery life and value.
