SURRETTE 'ROLLS' BATTERIES
Surrette 'Rolls'
Battery Company Limited is one of North America's leading lead-acid battery
manufacturers. Established in 1935, with a production facility in Salem,
Massachusetts, Surrette relocated to Canada in 1959 and is the Nation’s only
remaining independent battery manufacturer.
The modern, ISO 9001 registered, production facilities are located in Springhill, Nova Scotia with a distribution network throughout North America and the world.
Surrette understands alternative energy systems. Not only do they understand the complexities of alternative energy systems, they believe in their environmental benefits! Surrette's manufacturing facility is heated and cooled by geothermal heat pumps. They also have eight 85 watt solar panels
mounted on a solar tracker which charge a 2000 amp hour, 48 volt battery bank. This acts as their office UPS system with plant to grid feed once legislation allows. Surrette manufactures batteries for railroad, marine, motive power and solar applications. Their batteries are considered to be the worlds best
for the markets they serve.
Environmentally Friendly No Acid Leakage
The new generation of batteries utilizes dual container construction. Each cell
is assembled in its own inner container made of high temperature, durable
polypropylene with the inner cover heat bonded to the container, (thus acid
leakage is eliminated). The cells are then assembled into a high density tough
polyethylene outer container with a removable lid. Even if the outer container
were to break the battery would still be operable without the harmful affects of
sulfuric acid spills.
Optional Cell Connection
Cell replacement is now less frequent, but if necessary, Surrette Rolls makes it clean
and quick. As an option the individual cells are bolted together allowing the
battery to be repaired, or assembled on location. Cell replacement can be
accomplished without special skills or tools

Enveloped Positive Plates
The positive plates are doubled insulated. The first layer consists of a thick
woven glass mat. The plate and matting are then sealed in a non-destructible,
micro porous, polyethylene envelope. The envelope eliminates the possibility of
separator misalignment, cracked separators, treeing, or shorting at the bottom
or sides. The sediment chamber is eliminated allowing more liquid space above
the top of the cell, thus lengthening periods between watering.
Rugged Plate Construction
The Rezistox Plate Design uses fewer, but heavier, members in the grid (current
carrying conductor). More metal where it counts. The heavier members offer more
resistance to positive grid peroxidization (corrosion), and allow for greater
percentage of power producing active material. (The grid and active material are
referred to as the plate.) Take no chances, choose Surrette 'Rolls', the positive choice for life! North America's BEST deep-cycle battery.
Surrette 'Rolls' Solar Batteries Surette 'Rolls' Solar Batteries are renowned world wide as the best. As other copy,
Surrette just keeps innovating. The use that solar batteries experience require them to be slowly charged but be capable of supplying large amounts
of power for longer periods. Many people substitute standard car batteries, but are disappointed when they fail in a very short time. There is no point in buying a battery that will not last you the season. If you want your appliances to work, run your refrigerator, stay cool and your water to flow, then you
need the reliability of the best quality Deep Cycle Solar Battery.

Surrette 'Rolls' Marine Batteries
Surrette's heavy duty design, with a reputation for outlasting all competition, is known world wide. At sea where the life of the boat and her crew are at stake, take no chances. No other manufacturer offers more for your money.
Don't be fooled by some imitators who apply 'marine' labels to their automotive batteries. Marine service differs from automotive, requiring a battery that can stand up when exposed to cycling service. Lights, refrigeration blowers, motors, radio, and other electrical equipment results in cycling service, meaning the battery is constantly
being charged and discharged!
An automotive battery does not have the stamina required to perform cycling service and will not withstand the abuses of marine service. Thus, any money saved on "less expensive" batteries will result in less reliable service and a much reduced operating life.
Engine cranking (or starting) batteries require high current output. In marine service, the batteries should have much greater capacity than normally required for the same horsepower "shore-based" equipment. In the event of starting trouble, a reserve of cranking capacity should be available, otherwise, the batteries will be dead before
the trouble is corrected! For more information on the
