Rimba Orangutan Ecolodge Borneo

Rimba Orangutan Ecolodge is a totally remote Lodge located in the wilds of Borneo. Being in the middle of the jungle where the only access is via river boat means that their power supply has to be totally stand alone Off Grid. With 35 rooms and facilities to cater for, it also needs to be efficient and reliable. The system that we have provided for them meets both requirements generously, and they couldn’t be happier.

Installing a system here in the jungle was a challenge, but one that our experienced Engineers met head-on! All panels and equipment were transported by boat, and our staff stayed onsite until the job was complete. They even had to construct a custom made electrical fence around the solar array in order to protect it from the local inhabitants. This situation was unique to our Rimba installation, but was certainly able to be overcome. Remote and Off Grid sites all present a different set of challenges, whether that be weather, jungle, remoteness, or in this case, wildlife. Whatever the situation, our team has the skills and experience to find a solution.

We are extremely proud to be associated with Rimba, and our ongoing relationship with them is one that we cherish!
